Celebrating the Rite of Ordination to the Priesthood
Fr. Juan-Carlos Altamirano, top, and Fr. Mark Rydell lie prostrate during the “Invitation to Prayer” at the ordination Mass, celebrated by Bishop David Ricken, Saturday, May 25, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. Fr. Altamirano has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Pius X Parish and St. Therese Parish, both in Appleton. Fr. Rydell has been appointed parochial vicar of Holy Cross Parish and St. Katharine Drexel Parish, both in Kaukauna. The appointments for the newly ordained priests begin on July 1.

Pray for Vocations
The Fiat Prayer Society is a prayer initiative from the Office of Vocations to get more people engaged in praying for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the Diocese of Green Bay. Members pledge to pray daily for more young people to:
1. Say “yes” to the vocations of the priesthood and religious life, using the “Daily Prayer for Vocations.”

Fr. Gary Dantinne, former longtime pastor in Suamico/Little Suamico, dies at age 82
ALLOUEZ — Fr. Gary Dantinne, who served as pastor of St. Benedict Parish, Suamico, and St. Pius Parish, Little Suamico, for nearly 20 years, died on Sunday, May 26, at age 82.
Fr. Dantinne, a Green Bay area native, graduated from Premontre High School in 1959. He attended St. Norbert College in De Pere, earning a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy in 1964.
